Since graduating from WAAPA in 1989, Rodney has carved out a career in the Australian Music Theatre Industry earning him a reputation as one of the most consistently working music theatre performers in the biz, with a list of impressive credits spanning thirty years.

Most recently Rodney performed in the ensemble at the Sydney Opera House and the Melbourne Arts Centre in the revival of Hal Prince’s hit musical Evita, starring Tina Arena. His professional theatre credits in reverse are as follows…

Legally Blonde as Professor Callahan (Packemin Productions) at Parramatta Riverside Theatre. Dream Lover the Bobby Darin Musical as Charlie, the Australian made musical starring David Campbell. My Fair Lady in the ensemble, directed by  the one and only Julie Andrews. Singin’ in the Rain as Roscoe Dexter, Australian tour.  Les Misérables 25th anniversary production touring Australia as the Bishop of  Digne then taking over as Thenardier. Annie (Packemin Productions) as Daddy Warbucks at Parramatta Riverside Theatre. Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Moonshadow as Mr Mathew in the world premiere production. Wicked as Dr Dillamond in the original Australian cast. Company as David (Kookaburra), Rosie as George, The Full Monty as Dave, Sweeney Todd as Tobias Ragg  (Australian Opera), Twelfth Night as musician/ Valentine/ Priest (B Company), Buddy as The Big Bopper, Jolson in the ensemble, Les Misérables 10th anniversary production in the ensemble understudying and playing Javert, Sunset Blvd in the ensemble of the original Australian cast. Nathaniel Storm as McLinden, Miss Saigon in the ensemble of the original Australian cast. Miss Julie in the ensemble (STC), South Pacific in the ensemble, Aspects of Love, in the ensemble of the original Australian Cast. Return to the Forbidden Planet in the ensemble of the original Australian cast. And, shortly after he graduated, Chess was Rodney’s first professional show in the ensemble of the original Australian cast in 1990.

Rodney received a Green Room Award nomination for best supporting actor in an opera for ‘Tobias’ in Sweeney Todd and a Helpmann Award nomination for best supporting actor in a musical for ‘Dave’ in The Full Monty.
